Sara brusciano
Italian cinematographer with an international background, she has lived, studied, and worked across Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
She graduated in Socio-Cultural Anthropology at Sapienza University of Rome (2013), specialized in Visual Anthropology at the University of Barcelona (UB, 2014), and earned her diploma as Director of Photography at EICTV in Cuba (2020).
Based between Italy and Cuba, she works on a range of national and international film projects. Her recent credits as director of photography include the short films What If I (Italy, 2023), L'Ora Alternativa (Italy, 2023), El susurro de las hojas – The Whisper of the Leaves (Cuba, 2021), and the Quechua-language Andean fiction feature film Érase una vez en los Andes (Peru, 2023), which was selected and awarded at several international festivals, including the 21st Locarno Film Festival – Chile Industry Academy, and the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI Goa, 2023). In 2023, she was also selected as an Alumni Talent at the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
She has been lecturer and coordinator of the Photography Department at EICTV in Cuba since 2025.
